Air Fryer Salmon Bites

Air Fryer Salmon Bites

These air fryer salmon bites are coated in a simple teriyaki-style marinade and cook in less than 10 minutes. They turn out crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, and work well served with rice and vegetables or added on top of a fresh salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon fillet skin removed or left on depending on preference
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or sesame oil
  • ¼ cup low-sodium tamari or soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 2 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ginger grated or finely chopped
  • Sesame seeds for topping
  • Green onions sliced, for serving

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the avocado oil, tamari, maple syrup, garlic, vinegar, and ginger. Whisk everything together until the mixture looks smooth and well blended.
  • Cut the salmon into small, even bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife. Keeping the pieces similar in size helps them cook evenly.
  • Place the salmon pieces into the marinade and gently mix so all sides are coated. Cover and place in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for a deeper flavor.
  • When ready to cook, arrange the marinated salmon pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway through. If needed, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Once cooked, serve the salmon bites warm over rice or any grain of choice. Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top for extra flavor and texture.

Notes

  • To cook in the oven: Place the marinated salmon pieces on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until fully cooked.
  • Storage: Leftover salmon bites can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Soy-free option: Coconut aminos can be used instead of tamari or soy sauce. It adds a slightly sweeter taste but still works well in the marinade and keeps the flavor balanced.
